Occupational therapy is implemented by health care individuals, occupational therapists, who are licensed by the state in occupational therapy. For the pediatric population, their emphasis is in improving the child's perceptual motor skills, fine motor skills, strength and coordination, as well as sensory integration, so that the child develops independent skills in the areas of play, social interaction, academics and self-care.
